Honey, Marmalades and Jams
Raw unpasteurised honey and natural jams straight from Sierra beekeepers — no additives, no middlemen. Orange blossom, chestnut, eucalyptus and more: every jar captures the authentic taste of southern Spain.
We offer a wide selection of artisan honey, jams and preserves from Andalusia. We only work with local beekeepers to be certain that every jar contains pure, 100% natural and exclusively Spanish honey. All our honeys are raw and unpasteurised, harvested using traditional methods that respect the bees and the environment.
We have been working with the same sierra beekeepers for over 20 years, and the trust we have built allows us to offer you products you will hardly find anywhere else. The quality that reaches your table is the same we enjoy at home.
Types of Spanish artisan honey
In our shop you will find different honey varieties, each with unique properties and flavours worth discovering:
- Orange Blossom Honey — From Seville's orange groves. Light colour, smooth and sweet taste with a citrus touch. Perfect for sweetening coffee, tea or for traditional pastries like torrijas and pestiños.
- Chestnut Honey — From the Sierra de Aracena. Dark colour with a reddish tone, intense woody flavour, less sweet than other varieties. Highly valued for its digestive and circulatory properties.
- Eucalyptus Honey — One of the most typical in Spain. Balsamic properties ideal for colds, coughs and sore throats. Light amber colour with an unmistakable aroma.
- Anise Honey (Matalauva) — From green anise, a very special and hard-to-find honey. Wonderful for baking and perfect in relaxing infusions.
All our honeys may crystallise naturally, which is a sign of high quality and purity. If you prefer a more liquid texture, simply warm it gently in a bain-marie to restore its original state without losing any properties.
Artisan jams and preserves from Andalusia
Our Seville bitter orange marmalade is famous worldwide. We work with the Valle de la Osa workshop in Constantina, where Patricio and his family make the finest marmalades in the province using seasonal fruit, no preservatives and all the flavour of homemade goodness.
Seville bitter orange has a unique character that sets it apart from any other marmalade. Its hint of bitterness combined with just the right sweetness creates an addictive flavour that crosses borders. It is no coincidence that Korean television came to our shop to make a feature about them.
Besides bitter orange, you will find preserves made with other seasonal fruits, always artisan and with recipes perfected over years in Andalusian workshops.
Buy natural honey online direct from the beekeeper
Every jar of honey and every pot of jam you find in our shop comes directly from the producer, with no middlemen. We personally know every beekeeper and workshop, we visit them regularly and we maintain a relationship of trust that shows in the quality of the final product.
When you buy honey from Productos de la Sierra, you are not buying an industrial product packaged in bulk. You are taking home a piece of the sierra, made with the same dedication it has always been made with. That is our guarantee.
Raw or unpasteurised honey has not been subjected to intense heat treatment, which preserves all its enzymes, antioxidants, pollen and natural beneficial properties. Most commercial honeys are pasteurised to prevent crystallisation and extend shelf life, but at the cost of eliminating a large part of their benefits. Our honeys from the Sierra de Sevilla are bottled directly from the hive, just as nature produces them.
We offer a unique selection of monofloral honeys from the Sierra de Sevilla under the La Alameña brand: Azahar (floral and delicate, from orange blossom), Castaño (dark and intense, from the chestnut groves of the Sierra), Eucalyptus (aromatic with balsamic properties), Retama, Cantueso (from wild thyme) and Coriander. Each honey has a completely different colour, texture and flavour that makes it perfect for different uses in cooking and baking.
No. All our jams and preserves are 100% natural, with no artificial preservatives, colourings or flavourings. The Valle de la Osa jams, made in Constantina (Sierra Norte de Sevilla), are prepared with seasonal fruit and just enough sugar to achieve natural preservation. The Seville bitter orange marmalade is especially prized for its balance between sweetness and the citrusy, slightly bitter note of the orange.
The cane honey from Frigiliana is actually a unique traditional product: melado, or sugarcane syrup, produced at the only sugar mill still operating in Europe, in the Málaga municipality of Frigiliana. It is not bee honey, but rather the concentrated, unrefined juice of the sugar cane, with a deep, caramelised and slightly spiced flavour reminiscent of molasses but with a very distinctive personality of its own.
